As title and description suggests. I was in the middle of writing code last night when eclipse closed itself without any error code. I tried to rerun it and the shortcut was saying the file didn't exist. When I looked at the folder the exe was gone. After some fiddling about trying to get it to work, I decided to delete every eclipse folder I could find and reinstall a fresh copy unfortunately the installer exe also closes itself after selecting any version to install.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's very bizarre behavior. Eclipse can't actually delete itself, so there must be something else going on in your system.
Let's start with some basics:
What OS are running on?
Is this a company or school machine that might be subjected to some sort of security or software compliance scan/tool?

That's what I thought aswell, the only other program I installed recently was paint.net, I'll have to delete that and try again tonight.

I'm on Win 7 64 bit, and it my personal computer. Thier shouldn't be any firewall or antivirus software in the way, but I'll turn that off tonight and try again aswell.

Update: After some mucking about with no avail. I decided to finally do a system restore. The restore point was before Paint.net was installed. Every thing is back up and running.

Now to figure out how I can either delete this topic or label it solved.

No idea what exactly caused it, but glad I am back and programming again.

Update 2: It worked for a little while, but it did the exact same thing. Haven't installed anything new since it was working. I am currently searching through my Eclipse folder (Which is once again missing the exe) for any sort of bug report

I am having a very similar issue on Windows 7 64 bit. Eclipse was working fine until a few days ago. I had to reinstall it and now the Eclipse.exe has vanished again. Was this problem resolved?
