Open source contributions to the Eclipse Titan [message #1748355] |

Dear all,
Since Titan was made open source, we have seen the whole range of adopters:
those who use Titan to compile and execute "ready-made" TTCN-3 code, e.g. ETSI or 3GPP standardized test suites;
those who wrote some TTCN-3 code for themselves, and finally those who contributed to the Titan code
(or the code of products in the Titan tool-box: test ports or protocol modules).
As the latter requires a higher degree of familiarity with Titan and also signifies an amount of commitment,
I'd like to mention them in no specific order.
Philippe Proulx from Efficios ( https://www.efficios.com/ ) contributed an LTTng logger plug-in (LTTng being an open source tracing framework for Linux),
that will be available in the upcoming release 6.1.0 of Titan.
Michael Josenhans contributed a SocketCAN test port and also demo test code for applications on top of SocketCAN such as Isobus ( see http://git.eclipse.org/c/titan/titan.TestPorts.SocketCANasp.git/ ).
A Controller Area Network (CAN bus) is a vehicle bus standard designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other in applications without a host computer.
It is a message-based protocol, designed originally for multiplex electrical wiring within automobiles, but is also used in many other contexts.
Naum Spaseski from Easyglobalmarket ( http://www.eglobalmark.com/ ) contributed with blockwise options to the CoAP protocol module
(http://git.eclipse.org/c/titan/titan.ProtocolModules.CoAP.git/) and also tests to verify the new options.
Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) is an internet application protocol largely used in IOT.
Naum is also working on the oneM2Mtester tool based on Titan, a OneM2M conformance framework to be soon released in open source.
I would also like to mention here the contributions of students from the University of Science ELTE who worked on the Titanium plug-in:
Daniel Gobor, Gabor Jenei, Daniel Poroszkai, Viktor Varga and Istvan Bohm,
and the work of Peter Olah, who added a new, faster algorithm for semantic analysis in Designer.
We are grateful for their contributions and we hope this will encourage others to follow their path.
Thank you and best regards
Elemer
