Hi,

I'm trying to configure the "CDT GCC Built-in Compiler Settings MinGW".
However, when it executes, I get the following output:

It's missing the include paths and #defines, so it provides no useful output to be used with the CDT indexer.

However, when I use the "CDT GCC Built-in Compiler Settings Cross ARM" and point to the ARM toolchain, I get a successful output and everything works fine.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

In case anyone is wondering, this is within the same eclipse project, but using different configurations. We compile our executable for ARM, but compile unit-tests and run them on x86 which is why we have two different GCC compilers to configure/use.

You might try executing the x86 command (shown below) from a command window and see what you get.
c:/git/smv6-arm-build/mingw/bin/../libexec/gcc/mingw32/4.8.1/cc1.exe -E -quiet -v -P -iprefix c:\git\smv6-arm-build\mingw\bin\../lib/gcc/mingw32/4.8.1/ C:/dev/workspace_neon/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.core/spec.c -mtune=generic -march=pentiumpro -dD

If you have MinGW for your current Windows version, try
gcc -E -P -v -dD <some c file>

For comparison, the following is the ARM version (both taken from your post)
c:/git/smv6-arm-build/arm_toolchain/windows/gcc/bin/../lib/gcc/arm-none-eabi/4.9.3/cc1.exe -E -quiet -v -P -iprefix c:\git\smv6-arm-build\arm_toolchain\windows\gcc\bin\../lib/gcc/arm-none-eabi/4.9.3/ -isysroot c:\git\smv6-arm-build\arm_toolchain\windows\gcc\bin\../arm-none-eabi -D__USES_INITFINI__ C:/dev/workspace_neon/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.core/spec.c -dD


EDIT:
The version you are using for the X86 compiles defaults to -mtune=generic -march=pentiumpro.
Could it be your build machine is different architecture?

Thanks for this suggestion. By calling this I got quite a few MessageBox errors pop-up from Windows about missing DLLs.
It seems after all I was missing ${MINGW_HOME}/bin from $PATH.

I'm still dumbfounded why the same issue didn't show with the ARM compiler though Confused
But hey, at least it works... Thanks!
