Self contained multi-plaform workspace in USB key [message #1739494] Tue, 02 August 2016 08:46 Go to next message

Hi

I would like to know if it is possible with Oomph to setup a workspace and its Eclipse for a specific project from catalog on a USB stick and have this installation usable from different OS.
I.e. a self contained Eclipse without use of centralized bundle pool, with a delta pack to works with all OS.

Best Regards.

You mean like Mac, Linux, and Windows? No, an installation can only
work on one type of operating system.

Yes, you can install without a bundle pool so that the installation is
self contained and supports roaming. But a workspace might well not
support roaming. E.g., if it references a git clone, it's likely to do
so with the absolute path of the clone's location.

How can I setup an install withou a shared bundle pool?
I haven't seen a such option when using the installer UI.

Best Regards.

There's an on/off switch next to Bundle Pools... in the simple installer's menu and a check box in the advanced installer.

In simple mode there's a switch in the main menu. In advanced mode there's a checkbox at the bottom of the Product page.
