Eclipse Neon - cannot create a PyDev remote project [message #1739201] Thu, 28 July 2016 06:02 Go to next message

I'm struggling with Eclipse (Neon) and PyDev.

I've successfully set-up a remote project in a server folder (accessed via ssh) where some Python files are contained, but when I open them from my local workspace they are "not read" as Python files (no hint about unused modules, undeclared variables are shown), which instead happens with local projects.
So I right-clicked on the remote project, choose Pydev->Set as PyDev project, but no .pydevproject file was created on the remote folder and no 'P' appeared on the project icon. I also chose "Set as source folder (add to PYTHONPATH)" but the project icon didn't change as it did for a local project.

Any suggestion for solving this very annoying problem?

Thanks!

I would ask the PyDev project. I don't think that Eclipse developers know about the PyDev specific things.
