Model synchronization in Sequence diagram [message #1738299] Mon, 18 July 2016 15:10 Go to next message

Hello!

I'd like to know, does Synchronization (Sync with model) works with Sequence diagrams? Toggled it to 'true' on my 'Interaction' figure on diagram, but no lifelines and messages appeared. When I dropped them do diagram by hand, they still have 'Delete from diagram' item in their context menu.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The last of my knowledge is that this synchronization is not yet
implemented in the Sequence Diagram. There were significant
architectural issues that needed to be resolved first; I'm fuzzy on the
details, but I think much of it at the time was related to the way
drag-and-drop customization was implemented in this diagram, that it
wasn't compatible with the implementation of synchronization at the
time. However, the synchronization framework was re-implemented in the
Neon release to not use the drop edit-policies, so it could be that
completing this work in the Sequence Diagram is now feasible. But I am
not aware of any plans in that area.

Cheers,

Christian
