Hi guys!
I've just installed Eclipse Neon and unfortunately I can't access the marketplace. We're using a company-wide proxy and there have been problems with previous Eclipse versions as well. However those problems could be circumvented by setting the parameter Dorg.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.excludeContributors=org.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.httpclient4 at the end of the eclipse.ini (vmargs section).
At a first glance the situation is identical with Neon - without the parameter any connection to the internet fails (proxy authorization required). Once it's set everything seems to work including software updates, reloading available software sites and even browsing with the internal browser.
As soon as I try to open the Marketplace I get an error, though:
Cannot open Eclipse Marketplace
Cannot install remote marketplace locations: Cannot complete request to http:// marketplace.eclipse .org/catalogs/api/p: Unexpected response content: Parse result is null.
Cannot complete request to http://marketplace.eclipse.org/catalogs/api/p: Unexpected response content: Parse result is null.
Unexpected response content: Parse result is null.
Received response begins with:
1: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http:// www.w3 .org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
2: <html>
3: <head>
I'm pretty certain eclipse should be able to reach the mentioned url - when I try to access it via the internal browser it loads correctly...
Does anyone have any idea what's going wrong? Does the Marketplace handle the connection differently?
(Had to add spaces to the message urls since I'm not allowed to post urls.)
