Other than the Javadoc for ITypeComputer, are there any other guides to using and customizing Xbase's type computation? Or, even better, tutorials with progressively more involved examples?

No and no. Only the Java doc. And maybe some tutorial for introducing a xyzliteral. Sry for that. If you share what you indend to do we may be able to help

There will be an example in the last chapter of the forthcoming 2nd
edition of my Xtext book :)
