Eclipse interaction with Virtualenv [message #1731252] Tue, 03 May 2016 15:19
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi

I have been using another IDE and want to change to Eclipse. I am working with Debian Linux OS (Ubuntu's close enough) and a KDE Desktop. I have projects that use both python 2.7 and python 3.x. I also could be using Django 1.7x, 1.8x and 1.9. Each project must be kept completely separate with the exception of a common Postgrsql database engine and an Apache web server. I have been using virtualenv or the Python3 equivalent. How does virtualenv fit with Eclipse Mars or is it needed to keep projects separated. I have tried to do an installation and found all kinds of conflicts and am very confused as to how all of this fits together under Eclipse Mars. I need a road map for setting up a flexible development environment.

Any help will be sincerely appreciated.

Gary R.
