PDE-Exporting makeithappen [message #1730081] Thu, 21 April 2016 06:01 Go to next message

Hello *!

I followed
http://eclipsesource.com/blogs/tutorials/getting-started-with-the-emf-client-platform/

to successfully create an e4 application (see chapter "Getting Started
with your Custom Model" for information about producing an e4 run
configuration containing the model bundles and 20 features).

Running the exported product on the other hand results in a multitude of
errors. Fixing them by identifying the missing bundles, finding the
containig features seems a lot of work.

Does someone know a different ansatz to get an "exportable" product
definition? My goal is to be able to produce the target both via PDE and
tycho.

Thank you!
GV

Hi Volker,
you should be able to create a product out of you run config.
New -> PluginDevelopment -> Product Configuration
There you select "Use a launch configuration".

This product should be exportable via PDE and you should be able to use it with tycho.

Cheers,
Eugen

Thanks Eugen!

I wasn't able to create a feature based product config from the launch config, but after a little bit of hand work and "add requiring" I ended up with a working product based on 49 features.

Yours!
