Hardcoded 'plugins' dir name [message #329179] Mon, 16 June 2008 10:11
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi,

is there any way of avoiding a directory called 'plugins' in an eclipse
RCP app?
The name 'plugins' is hardcoded in equinox launcher
( http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/org.eclipse.equinox .launcher/src/org/eclipse/equinox/launcher/Main.java?revisio n=1.42&view=markup
) which makes me think it's not possible to lack a 'plugins' directory. I
guess it should be possible. This fact makes the directory structure of an
RCP app pretty fixed. Am I wrong?

One way to avoid hardcoding it, would be placing it in a system property,
like those OSGi runtime uses...

Thanks in advance.
