Hi,

If I want to have a Tool some.feature in my IDE, and for Mars the tool
repo is http://tool/for/mars and for Neon the tool repo is
http://tool/for/neon how do I model this with a P2 director task?

I'm not sure I understand.. For example for EGit, the update site is
independent of the product version: http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates

So is this an implicit contract that the latest version of
org.eclipse.egit.feature.group can be installed in either Mars or Neon,
or is the P2 engine so powerful that it will just 'find' the latest
compatible release for the chosen product?

Hi Felix,

It's important to note that repositories can be contributed to the final, merged P2 Director task from many places. So,
if you need particular versions (or version ranges) being chosen it's important to specify these restrictions in the
requirements and not just rely on the right set of repos being used.
