I moved the location of my java sdk and tried to reinstall eclipse, but it is looking for java at the old location that doesn't exist. I have no .ini file to modify yet because eclipse is not installed. How can I change where eclipse looks to find java if I can't even tell it where to look yet?

My java location is at C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_79

but it says Error: could not open 'C:\java\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg' because that folder no longer exists, I moved it. So I am stuck being unable to install eclipse. Help?

Did you use the Oracle installer to install Java? If so, the location you chose at that install time is written (along
with other things) to the Windows registry. I don't think you can move that JDK after that install time. Just don't do
it and all is good. If you really need it in folder X, not Y, then install it in X initially. But don't move it.

Cheers

Shad,

Download a new installer. Or fix the existing installer's
eclipse-inst.ini using the same approach as you'd use for eclipse.ini of
an installation.
