The oldest Eclipse version EGit should work on are 3.8.2 and 4.2.2 (Juno).

Though we don't really test such old versions. I would recommend to use the
latest Eclipse release 4.5.1 (Mars.1). 4.5.2 will be released end of this month.

The experimental auto-import feature requires 4.5 (Mars).
