I have some experience in Java and am seeking to contribute to Eclipse. I have looked at the pages about how to contribute. Nevertheless I still am not sure where to start. What are the basic steps involved in order to get started?

Perhaps you could give a little more detail? Eclipse.org hosts many, many projects, and the process could be different for each one.
