Hello,
By view you probably mean Sirius representation (Diagram, Tree etc.) ?
Nothing can prevent the user to set an existing name. However it's
possible to set a "Title Expression" in the representation mapping to
avoid conflicts.
The rename action is provided by
org.eclipse.sirius.ui.tools.internal.views.common.ContextMenuFiller but
this is not intended to be overridden.
