Open file from commandline [message #1713294] Tue, 03 November 2015 02:19

Hi there,

does the Eclipse E3 open-file-feature also work with E4?
https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse/OpenFileFeature

Anyone has an example how to register a file-extension for a specific
editor such that E4 would open that file in that editor from commandline?
I'm assuming to not use the workbench, i.e. I need to know what to
program in order to open the right editor and where to pass the file...

The intention would be to allow file-based working in Windows Explorer
where a double click would open the E4 application and the right part.
Multiple file types should be possible, so some kind of registry of file
extensions to parts would be required.

Cheers,
Hauke
