Does anyone know why the connector thickness fades ?It happens for longer lines under some circumstances not all the time. When zoomed in the connectors become visible.

Jack,

that might be due to rendering accuraccy (GEF 3.x only allows integers for coordinates which might lead to rounding issues). Something you describe can happen in case of thin lines, e.g. just one pixel in width.

There are also several other ugly rendering issues caused by this GEF limitation, they are collected in umbrella bugzilla 442483 .
