how to uninstall after using mars installer [message #1710854] Fri, 09 October 2015 14:07 Go to next message

i installed mars, using the installer to /opt using sudo.

when i try to run, eclipse looks for packages under /root.

i suspect i shouldn't have run the installer as root.

can i simply delete the eclipse directory under /opt, or does the installer have an uninstall option?

thanks,
Dan

Dan,

The installer uses a bundle pool by default ((unless you've disabled it
via the menu) . By default that's in ${user.home}/pool, so whatever the
home is for the root, there will be a bundle pool folder there too that
you'll want to delete. Presumably a root user should only create
shared installation because other uses are unlikely to have write access
to the installation; currently an installation created using bundle
pools cannot be shared.

I think it is ${user.home}/.p2/pool
