Compare/ Merge tool for Papyrus [message #1710817] Fri, 09 October 2015 09:57 Go to next message

Hi,

Is there a Compare/ Diff/ Merge tool for Papyrus?

I have seen https://wiki.eclipse.org/EMF_Compare/CompareUMLPapyrusAPI
but it said that "THIS PAGE IS ARCHIVED. IT IS PROBABLY OUTDATED AND WILL NOT BE UPDATED"

Having such a tool would be really usefull to merge models coming from // developments.

Best regards,

Marc

Hi, Marc,

Select the "Install Papyrus Additional Components" item from the Help
menu. This brings up an installer wizard for the optional components
of Papyrus, one of which (in the "Modeler Extensions" category) is the
"Papyrus Compare (Incubation)" component.

Christian

Hi Marc,

The support is provided by the EMF Compare project, which provides Model and Diagram diff/merge for Papyrus, as well as a good EGit integration. That's your best option (The "Papyrus Compare" entry in the Papyrus Additional Components is a very thin layer on top of EMF Compare, so that's basically the same component Christian mentionned)

However, EMF Compare depends on some API changes/improvements in EGit that may not be available in the latest release version (This is a very active work-in-progress), so it might be worth contacting the EMF Compare project team directly to know how to get the latest stable version.

HTH,
Camille
