Hi Team,

I m new to eclipse and unable to load eclipse on my ubuntu server.
i m using java 1.8 and i want to iinstall BIRT 4.5.0
Whenever i run ./eclipse it ends up with the following error:-
Eclipse:
GTK+ Version Check
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: ignoring option MaxPermSize=256m; support was removed in 8.0
Eclipse:
An error has occurred. See the log file
/root/eclipse/configuration/1443436313793.log.

also find the attached log file

How did you install Eclipse? Did you use a linux package tool or download directly from www.eclipse.org/downloads ?
