Hi,

I have tried to use the EMF Forms framework for a simple SWT based UI, but I found the need for some custom controls. I noticed that large parts of the API for custom controls are annotated as @Deprecated, but unfortunately without any message. Is there already a new API I should be using? Or will this remain like it is until the next major release?

Cheers,

Knut

Hi Knut,

maybe to make sure that you are looking for the right thing: Do you want
to replace some of the existing controls with your custom ones? In this
case, you should implement a custom renderer for those, there is no need
to use custom controls here.

Best regards

Jonas

Hi Jonas,

Yes, that article looks quite helpful. I had only found this one before: http://eclipsesource.com/blogs/tutorials/emf-forms-custom-control-areas/. It seems like it achieves something very similar in the end.

I will go ahead and implement a custom renderer instead.

Thanks,

Knut
