Setting String attribute back to null [message #1707989] Fri, 11 September 2015 09:14 Go to next message

Dear all,
When using an stereotyped element with a String tag value I don't know
how to set it to null.
Initially it has a null value, because if I run the validation and the
attribute is mandatory I get the right validation error, but if I set it
to something else I don't know to set it back to null again. Is it possible?

Best,

Víctor

Hi

In the UML Model Editor (and Ecore Editor) there is a reset default
value icon on the tool bar of the properties view. However I haven't
always found that they work for me, so I sometimes resort to XMI text
editing to be sure of what's actually defined. Only the XMI view enables
the distinction between the null and empty string to be made.

Regards

Hi Ed,
Thanks a lot, I will use this approach for my OCL testing.
However, I think it's not very suitable for the users of a profile.

Best,

Víctor

Did you find a solution to this? I have the same issue.

Unfortunately I didn't. What I did is changing the validation functions
to check also for empty Strings, but depending on you problem that might
not be a solution.
I do think Papyrus should support that natively.

Best,

Víctor
