import data with Excel [message #1706730] Sat, 29 August 2015 06:06 Go to next message

Hi Alex,

I'm trying to Import Excel files as Central Test Data Sets ( Files/Import/Test/Central Data Sets ). Yet, java.lang.NullPointException is through up. It is both for xls and for xml files. I work on Jubula 7.2 version, with win 8, on descktop machine. Test case that I'm using is from Samples ( Adder ) and it works successfully. Error appears only when I import input data.

Thanks in advance,

Elenka

Hi Elenka,

what exactly is happening? Please add more Details like e.g. log files etc. Did you make sure you are using the correct Excel sheet (i.e. including the correct Parameters written in the correct way)?
Regards
Oliver

I'm using Excel 2003. I'm trying to use excel as input central data.
If I do it from FIle/Import, Jubula report me that import is sucessful. But I am not able to use data from excel as my input values for my test case.
In case if I specify it in Test case Properties, in Excel Data File and enter path where the excel file is store. Again, my data from excel are not used.

I read from previous reports on forum, that loacition of excel file should be in Windows/ Preferences/ Test : Choose where your external data files and local scripts reside. Is this correct?

I'm little bit confused and I belive that you could help me.

Thanks in advance,

Elenka Ilioska

Hi Oleg,

I used that steps, but was not sure about specified folder from Preferences. I was confused with folder description.

I will try again and inform you for my status.

Thanks for external efforts and patience.

Have a nice day,

E.
