Migrating representation files from Sirius 2 to Sirius 3 [message #1706406] |

Hi everyone,
I recently migrated to Eclipse Mars (with Sirius 3), after having used Eclipse Juno + Sirius 2.0.4. When I run my second Eclipse instance and try to import one of my modeling projects from Sirius 2 into Sirius 3, the design files open successfully, but the representation file always appears as empty, and I have to manually recreate all my representations. Repairing the .aird file does nothing.
Is there something special to do in order to migrate the aird file, or does the format remain unchanged between Sirius 2 and Sirius 3 ? What could explain the behaviour I observe ?
Thanks in advance,
François

Hi Francois,
The migration from Sirius 2 to Sirius 3 should be automatic and be
successful. If it is not your case, you can raise a bugzilla with your
example in attachement that we may be able to reproduce to fix the issue
if there is one.
Best Regards.

My mistake.
The problem was coming from the fact that in my Sirius 2 install, the representations had been created using the viewpoints defined in the design plugins of the initial Eclipse instance. Thus, the corresponding .odesign files were referenced in the .aird file as platform:/plugin/*.design/*.odesign. In my Sirius 3 install, the design plugins are imported only in the runtime instance (the one launched from the initial instance), so their URI must start with platform:/resource. Doing a simple find/replace in the .aird file solved the problem.
