View/Editor/Perspective independent key bindings? [message #326756] Mon, 31 March 2008 14:09
Eclipse UserFriend
One of the most painful aspects of Eclipse for me is the way key
bindings depend upon focus. Its like learning 6 editors and continually
switching between them to get even trivial work done.

Is it practical to replace the default key bindings with a set that is
the same for all views? Has anyone tried to do this? The bindings would
have to change views I suppose, eg if Ctrnl-. meant next search result,
then the Search view would have to activated then the command issued.

Thanks,
John.
