I would like to know which solution you would encourage for hacking a Web GUI to edit EMF/CDO models.

Does it exists (or is it plan) to have REST WS for CDO ? Or do you have return of experience of EMF Client Platform for Web (number of simultaneous users, size of models)

EMF.Edit UI shoud be usable via RAP (see https://wiki.eclipse.org/RAP/EMF_Integration).
And CDO can be integrated in RAP application pretty much the same way as in RCP (you will need to open separate CDO View/Transaction for each client via a CDOViewProvider)
