Hi,

I read this page wiki.eclipse.org/Papyrus/UserGuide/ModelExecution and I use the the basic project which is very usefull to understand some features of Moka.

In spite of this, i have questions :
- Does Moka browse the XMI files of diagrams for simulation ? How does moka interpret these files ?
- About the animation, how does it work really ? Does Papyrus use his model animator to interpret traces send by Moka ?
- The user has to create himself his model according to the semantic of fUML in the purpose of simulation and animation, isn't it ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Stef

Hi Stef, thanks for your interest.

For the simulation, Moka interprets the .uml file, not the .notation file (or to be more precise, the execution engine selected through the preference page interprets the .uml file). If animation is activated, the dependencies between the .uml and its corresponding .notation are analysed, in order to perform the animation on the diagram.

Moka currently supports two execution semantics (fUML, and its extension for composite structures PSCS). Note that Moka plug-ins provide some extension points to support other execution semantics. We have an ongoing work to support UML state machines (on top of fUML and PSCS). This is done in connection with the ongoing OMG RFP on the Precise Semantics of UML State Machines (PSSM).

Cheers,

Arnaud
