Not sure, but if I look at the plan, I notice that Solaris 10 is mentioned.

Solaris 10 is the reference platform, meaning it's the one that is tested
and supported. It's also the easiest case from the user's perspective
because this is the first version of solaris that shipped with gtk.
Eclipse should also work on Solaris 8 and 9, but note:
- these require the client to install the gtk packages (2.2.x or newer)
and their dependencies
- these are not tested as part of the regular test cycle
Also note the following, which will enable you to use motif instead of gtk
on Solaris 8 or 9, and therefore don't require any additional package
installation:
- the RCP SDK and SWT Binary are still regularly built for solaris-motif,
so if you just have an RCP app or SWT app that you wish to deploy on a
Solaris 8 or 9 then these should work for you
- if you really want to use eclipse and don't mind using an older
version, the last release that is available for solaris-motif is 3.1.2,
which is available from
