Mylyn developer resources, add Checkstyle? [message #32799] Thu, 11 October 2007 03:16 Go to next message

Hi,

in the mylyn developer stuff there are code templates and formatter
settings. Is it possible to add a set of checkstyle rules as well?
This can help to maintain code quality as the user (and consequently
developer) base grows.

I would find this very helpful.

There are already plugins for that:
http://www.easyeclipse.org/site/plugins/index.html#quality

I don't mean to include checkstyle in mylyn, but to add a mylyn specific
configuration file to the mylyn developer resources, or is that already
done as well?

Maarten, this question would best be raised on mylyn-dev or
mylyn-integrators, or on a new bug report if you prefer not to
subscribe. In short, we can consider doing this, but generally try
avoid any non-eclipse.org dependencies in our development process so
that contributors can get started easily. But we do run FindBugs now
and again and checkstyle falls into the same category.
