Can a builder be started when the workbench/workspace loads, in addition to builds? [message #323615]

I have a nature and a builder associated with it, and it will run on
full and incremental builds with no problem. However, I would also like
the builder to run when the workbench/workspace starts up, and not only
when the user makes a change to cause a build or starts a full build
manually.

Is there a way to do this with builders? or is this better suited as a
validator?
