Birt 4.3.1 - Crosstab - Hiding default empty rows [message #1622501] Wed, 18 February 2015 09:45 Go to next message

I have two crosstabs which I want to export in Excel format. Each crosstab has a minimum of 2 rows and 2 column, for aggregating data.

I only need 1 row for each crosstab.

How could I eliminate 1 of the default row in the crosstab?

Note: setting the height to 0 or 1 pixels did not work. Right now, I'm looking into scripts for this.

So, your crosstab only returns a single result, but it's taking multiple rows and columns for each cell in the Excel output? Am I understanding correctly? Let me know.

I have included a screenshot of the rpt design and of the xls output.

Here on the .rptdesign, I have marked with red the area that I want to eliminate from appearing on the output.
index.php/fa/20904/0/

And here, on the .xls file, I have also marked with red the rows that appear and should not appear there.
index.php/fa/20906/0/

Can this be done via a script? If so, I'd like to know how to write that and where exactly, on which function to place it. I have researched sure scripts, but haven't been able to successfully implement a functional one.

Found solution: I selected each cell of the crosstab, went to its Property Editor -> Advanced -> Section -> Display -> set display to "No Display"

The screenshots helped a lot in letting me see what you were meaning. You have the solution I would have suggested after seeing those. Glad you found it. Smile Let us know if you run into any other issues.
