Provide contributions and feedback to help BIRT adoption in TPTP

Make a difference! TPTP is looking for contributions and feedback on the BIRT templates.

A set of report templates was created using the Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools ("BIRT") project's report designer. These report template files are bound to the corresponding TPTP models to visualize the information as a report. Various charts and tables help organize the data so that end users can find trends and analyze the data.

Interested in shaping how TPTP integrates with BIRT? TPTP is looking for developers from the community to contribute defect fixes, enhancements, documentation, or test effort to BIRT in TPTP.

If you want to contribute a new template, or an adjustment to a template, or modify the files, please add an attachment to bugzilla 125884 with a summary explaining the attachment.

Please add a comment to bugzilla 125884 to volunteer help on any aspect of BIRT in TPTP, and a TPTP representative will contact you.

What do you think of the templates in TPTP 4.2? Please provide your comments and suggestions in bugzilla 125884.

Below are some questions that TPTP would find particularly helpful to get feedback on, but please provide feedback on any BIRT topic:

• What kind of information do you want to see in the reports?
• Are there additional charts that you want to see in the reports?
• Should the information be filtered or sorted differently?
• Is there a better way to visualize the report data?
  • Should certain rows be highlighted based on some conditional logic?
  • Should bar charts be used instead of pie charts?
• Are there other analysis reports that you want to see?

Test execution history template

The test execution history template is used to generate a report with information for all test executions associated with a specified list of test elements. View a generated test execution history HTML report

Trace information template

The trace information template is used to generate a report based on memory and execution statistical information associated with a specified Monitor, Host, Process or Agent. View a generated trace information HTML report

Common Base Event logging template

The Common Base Event logging template is used to generate a report based on the common base event log information in a selected imported log file. View a generated Common Base Event logging HTML report

You can open these template files in the BIRT report designer and experiment with the look and feel of the report.
