Getting started with the new technology Agent Controller v4.2
The Agent Controller contains a server that has the capability to launch and manage local or remote applications.
On Windows platforms, the new technology Agent Controller has replaced its predecessor entirely. So on Windows platforms you can use the Java profiling engine that is included in the Agent Controller. The Java profiling engine uses the JVMPI to profile local or remote Java applications from a local TPTP workbench. Using the corresponding TPTP build, you can launch and profile local or remote Java applications, and import local or remote Apache error and access logs.
On Linux platforms, the backwards compatability layers that allow the Java profiling engine to run with the new technology Agent Controller are not completed and tested. Therefore we recommend using the Agent Controller with agents and clients developed to use its new interfaces when running on the Linux platforms.
