Summary of reports from healthcare day
Skip made a presentation concerning Open Health IT
News Release concerning OSU hosting Open Health IT per Skip's discussion.

We had considerable discussion about the role of SAT in helping OHF delay
it's platform bindings. This is important because there is ongoing concern
over the long term direction of eclipse regarding server side development,
and security (mainly user authentication) on equinox. There is a broad stream
of development within Eclipse in regard to these issues, but there is a distinct
lack of clarity as to the long term outcomes. By using SAT to delay the actual
binding to a platform, it will be possible for OHF to develop frameworks and
architectures without becoming too dependent on a particular outcome.

Following this we reviewed the primary components of OHF, discussing their
scope, intent, and current status. Some outcomes:
  - IBM will work to develop a proposal for Open Health IT to provide a
    consistent support

OHF Technical Meeting

Introduction (Grahame)
  Agenda Approved.

New Potential Components
 - RFD suite
    - committers agree that this is reasonably part
of OHF - the IHE component. Kevin's team will
make a contribution to OHF and also put forward
      a committer

 - SPL editor
    - DOJO extension that is customised for SPL narrative
editing. We would welcome this as a contribution
and would put it in the H3ET. Kevin's team will
make a contribution to OHF and also put forward
      a committer

 - Gello
    - will report from meeting with Jon Teichrow tomorrow night.

Component Reports
 - IHE (Eishay / Sarah / Sondra)
Connectathon was a success. Jyran expressed his appreciation.
IBM will seek to host a workshop in advance in the expectation
that there will be more users next year.

There were some problems with timelines - synchronising IHE
with HL7 and Audit components - hope that we can do better
next year. Will be working on V3 with IHE this year - chasing
   a moving target.

A couple of bugs to be fixed, and then the IHE release will be
   ready.

We will continue to work with IHE to encourage IHE and it's
backers (HIMSS, RSNA, others) to come up with a more favourable
financial model for open source vendors to be involved. (Don
and Sarah to lead). IHE is considering placing some information
   about

 - CTS (Tom / Scott)
Need to talk to Janet - hopefully today

 - HL7 v2 (Grahame)
 - HL7 v3 (Grahame)
In progress. Need to start working on run-times for V3 to support
   the IHE work.

VHA is proposing to donate Dave Carlson's MIFtoUML tool.

 - SODA (Stepstone) (Randy)
Have committed SAT and DK. Discussions in progress concerning
release. There will be more code released yet.

Liason Reports
 - Eclipse (Skip / Ward)

 - HL7 (Grahame / Don)
HTC is driving the requirements for development of HL7 V3 tools
in OHF. The focus is split between internal tools (used by HL7
to publish the standard) and implementor tools used by users who
   want to work with V3.

HSSP - has had a successful year - published a number of SFM's and
is now working on security and privacy - may be able to collaborate
with IHE. CTS 2 is underway.

 - Other eclipse projects (Grahame)
Corona - we will collaborate with Corona for the bridge.
Higgins - we are still committed to working with Higgins. Don will
take up a discussion between Sean Boyle, Higgins and us to ensure
that our various interests are satisfied.
Equinox - one day SAT will migrate to Equinox. This is an agreement
in principle, but we have to flesh out the actual details in
      association with Jeff McAffer
ALF - may collaborate with ALF when we work on the HSB (see below)

Release Planning (Eishay / Grahame)

We are preparing for a release. Issues:

* need some license and read me files in some plug-ins.
* still waiting for approval on 20 jars.

Components:
  - HL7 v2 - all 2 plug-ins
  - IHE - all the IHE related code (20 plug-ins)
     (including this round of CDA)
  - Bridge - 4 plug-ins for server side stuff
  - STEM components
  - Some SODA components
There will be source and binary downloads.

* Need a web page for each component, and some info
to go on the download page.

4 options for managing release
* only do incubation release - doesn't meet IBM requirements
* split the OHF project into components with different status - board rules this is illegal
* go for a top level project - but we are not ready for this
* split into OHF and OHF-incubation - keep everything
as much the same as possible

Decision: we will do an incubation distribution as soon as
Eishay can organise this. And we will start the process of
creating the second OHF project so that we can migrate to
a real release.

Action: Grahame to have an email committer election to create
OHF-incubation.

Architecture Issues (Don / Grahame)
Eishay on HSB
* Grahame to try out SAT based extensibility once release is done.
* Java 1.5 approved once release is done

Workplan for 2007 (Grahame)
* HL7 - workplan subject to HTC & Open Health IT - add current workplan.
* IHE
  - migrate to Corona server
  - development towards HSB
  - implement updates to IHE profiles
+ including specific CDA profiles (templates)
  - document consumer - support minimum query catalogue.
  - preparation for connectathon next year
  - ATNA/XUA enhancements will be done
  - V3 pix/pdq profiles

* CTS
  - will actually get into cvs next quarter

* SODA
  - get the rest of existing stepstone that will
    be committed into the cvs
  - work on Continua implementations and IHE PCD profiles

* Architecture / Framework
  - HSB basic stack
  - Workstation framework

Next Meeting
  - in Chicago in association with the IHE meeting
July 23 - 27. Sarah & Don to organise with Skip.
