OHF Committers meeting 3rd April 2006 minutes
GG: ok, all here
GG: the agenda is roughly:
- status reports
- admin issues
- anything else
GG: any issues with that agenda?
GG: ok, status reports
GG: this in terms of the milestone, as specified here:
GG: Milestone #1: June 30th
* IHE actor implementations : Initial release - all in place
* HL7 v2 conformance profile editor, Message Editor
* HL7 V3 Model code.
* CTS Code released
* Publish revised plan for next quarter
GG: I'll start
GG: HL7 V2 has progressed a little. Eishay has been helping me with how to handle cloning, ta
GG: I should have some time to resolve outstanding issues this week
GG: I'm working on EMF integration for HL7 stuff in XDS.
GG: Eishay and Don - how are other IHE things going?
ES: nothing to tell here
ES: on another issue, I have a meeting with the Eclipse Corona project tomorrow at 11:00 AM (PST) to check out if we can make use of the things they do on teh OHF Bridge
ES: if anyone wants to join I'll publish the numbers
ES: PDT
GG: ok, keep us informed.
DJ: I should have a rough Security (ATNA compatible) to discuss by next conference. I've been getting in the IHE mindset.
DA: My progress is short - I didn't have any time to make progress last week - and this week doesn't look good. Next week, I hope to finally get CTS cleaned up to the point that I can publish it in one form or another to begin the IP process for committing.
DJ: that's Security API
GG: great. Eishay, when is it likely that IBM will have something to tell?
ES: I expect an alfa of teh XDS actors at the end of May
ES: I need to check out with teh WADO (will send an email now)
GG: ok. you have dependency on the HL7 V2 stuff, and dependency on Don's time actor?
ES: for the first version we will use our old HL7 stuff
ES: not dependency on CT
GG: ok.
ES: Sarah will work on teh new HL7 in parallel with you
GG: ok.
GG: all right, let's go to admin stuff.
GG: one of the issues is where we can work together in speculative mode.
GG: the eclipse cvs is not too useful. we can de speculative stuff in there, but only the committers have access.
GG: so I have set up another cvs for us. it should be
GG: :extssh:xxx@ohf.kestral.com.au:/home/cvsroot
GG: but I haven't got the DNS right yet. Eishay - did you try by IP?
ES: not yet, was in a meeting
ES: can you send it again please?
ES: oh, here it is
GG: ok. anyway, I'll grant access to it for anyone associated with the OHF project, and we can use it for sharing code of any nature just within the group
GG: Eishay and Sarah have access. Let me know if you want access, or anyone else who should have access
GG: Dan F, I will get to the proposed modules this week, and send you a boilerplate for the actual component proposal for your stuff.
DF: that's great, that was going to be my question for the day
GG: We will have a committers vote for Hl7 starting later this week, and for the public health component when ever Dan F is ready.
DF: Is there a particular timeframe that this would work on?
GG: the committers vote takes either a week or whenever all the committers have responded.
GG: the processes take about a week after the vote is finished.
GG: no other particular timeframe. do you have one?
DF: no, not really, if there was one then I'd just make sure I hit the "due date"
GG: ok
ES: is still not accessable, teh domain name and IP are not on the DNS, and the CVS clients can't connect to the IP address]
GG: ok, that's the admin stuff from me. Anything else in admin or the anything else agenda section
GG: hmm. Eishay, I'll work off line with you on this one
DJ: I'm anticipating an ATNA "Audit Event Service" to be available to other actor (it can be "grouped" with several different actors). Would this be useful to you, Eishay??
ES: the application that will run in the connectathon will have to use ATNA
ES: the way we did it this year was that teh ATNA code is used directly by the XDS actors
ES: i think its a good model
DJ: Directly?
ES: yes, the applicaption calls a method on the XDS Source, and the source audits what it is doing or if it failed and why
ES: and the application used ATNA for stuff like user login/logout
DJ: I envision an API where the Audit Event parameters are passed from eg Document Source actor--then Document Source is done (or can process returned ack/error message).
ES: yes, i assume that we talk about the same thing
ES: maybe we should have a phone meeting about this issue and clear it up
DJ: I'll circulate something in writing so we can be sure what I saying--then a call.
GG: I think so. Don suggests that in the future, we us freeconference.com services? He says that it works well although each party bears the cost of calling in
GG: perhaps we should do this next week. any opinions?
ES: we can use my conf call facility
DF: I'm new to skype but doesn't it allow voice conferences?
ES: i have an 1-800 number
DJ: Skype voice from Australia can have significant delay.
GG: Hi Dan. yes, it does, but skype conferences are limited to 4 partipants, and we would usually have one or 2 more than that. also, skype get's quite laggy
GG: so we'll go with Eishay's telecon next week
GG: just means I have to work harder for the minutes ;)
DA: sounds good to me.
DF: ack, well as Eishay says IBM has good facilities that can be used for somethign like this, we do it all the time with various labs around the world
GG: right, anything else?
ES: ok, I will post the numbers when you'll send out the date
DF: nada
GG: ok, thanks all. talk to you next week
