How to strip off all unreferenced ComplexTypes from WSDL? [message #265678] Mon, 20 October 2008 20:12 Go to next message

Assume I defined a new WSDL in Eclipse WSDL editor. During the definition process
I created (but later not use them) some ComplexTypes and SimpleTypes.

However these unused Types are still in the resulting WSDL file embedded.

Ok, I could search for and removed them manually in the source pane.
But I can imagine that there is an automatic tool which does the job for me.
How can I remove the AUTOMATICALL all unreferenced messages, Types, elements
from a WSDL?

I guess you're using the Web Tools project for this and should ask on
the WTP newsgroup, which I've added to the "to" list of the reply. I
doubt they have such a thing. Just because you don't use the type
locally doesn't mean that no one downstream would never use it...

I'm curious why you cross posted to platform and newcomer and why your
posting has a "Followup-To" link? I.e., how did you create this posting?

There are already bugzillas opened with similar requests:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=142641
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=183630

There's also this https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=195063 to
provide the nice framework to plug-in all the clean-up actions.
