Are there stylesheets for some of the Javadoc view, the javadoc
tooltip, the folded text tooltip, the Declaration view and tooltip,
which could be modified to suit user preferences?

Currently these all use a white background which doesn't fit in my
color scheme and make some syntax elements, which I've chosen to be
displayed in white, to disappear. I would like to modify the fonts
in the Javadoc view, also.

The white background for the tooltips is because my system color
settings, which is fine but then it "doesn't fit" the white elements
which are fine in the editor.

The Javadoc hover and the Javadoc view can be adapted by editing the style
sheets in the org.eclipse.jdt.ui plugin.
The other user interface items use the system colors.

Cheers

Thank you, Tobias. That's really helpful.

It is a bit confusing still. The "Declaration" view is not a tooltip
hence it is not naturally to use the system color for a tooltip
background, though it is not necessary illogical, but then it
doesn't use the system color for a tooltip foreground but the colors
of the different syntax elements in the editor which has a different
background color. The default system defined background color for
the editor is different from the one of the tooltip, too. This
causes the problem with some syntax elements visible in the editor
not being visible in the declaration view... just imagine
hi-contrast color scheme with white text on black for editors and
black text on white for tooltips.

The same issue apply with the same information showed in a tooltip -
if the foreground color is not the system defined one it makes sense
to adjust the background color to suit the customized foreground.

I guess it is the default system color schemes (like white
background for editors and pale yellow for tooltips) don't make this
issue obvious but then here it is. I think if there's option to
"turn off syntax coloring" in the declaration view/tooltip (and
probably for folded text tooltip) it would be sufficient, or may be
just use the editor background color.

I agree that the declaration view should be configurable. Suggest to file a
bug against JDT Text.

Cheers

This means hacking the JDT UI plug-in installation. I suggest to file a
bug report asking to provide the stylesheet as a user preference.

Do you have a Bug # handy? I'm having trouble finding it.
