Eclipse deletes all files in directory, please help [message #71320] Mon, 30 May 2005 12:57 Go to next message

Hi all,

I just tried to create a new project in an existing folder. When eclipse
was importing (and converting?) all files I got an error saying the import
could not proceed. The result was that all files in this folder were
recusively removed and all that is left is a .project file. I tried the
recycle bin, but with no success?

Can anyone tell me where these files might have gone?

Any help is much appreciated!
thx in advance,
Christophe Herreman

If you create a project with a name such that there is already a folder with
that name in the workspace, nothing should have been deleted.
When you are using a CVS checkout, then the previous project content is
overwritten.
Now it looks like in your case the files are gone. :-(
May be a bug?
What version/eclipse configuration do you use?
Can you provide a list of steps to reproduce your problem?
