In the implementation of the UML2Tools (version 0.7.101) an action can
graphically belong to at most one activity group. To be more specific,
assume that an activity contains both an activity partition and a
structured activity node, which are overlapping. When creating an action
at the position where both activity groups overlap, the action is only
added to the activity group which is in top of the other.
In UML2, an action can be in multiple groups. Conform the specification,
the uml model can indeed be manually adjusted by adding the action to the
other (underlying) group.
When an action is positioned (either created or moved from a previous
location) at a location which overlaps with multiple activity groups, we
would like to see that:
the model is updated such that the action becomes a containedNode for
each overlapping activity group,
when one of the overlapping activity groups is repositioned, the action
is repositioned to the new overlapping location, if any.
Now my questions are:
Will the behavior described above be implemented in an upcoming release
of the UML2Tools (e.g. when implementing two-dimensional activity
partitions)? If so, which release?
How can we implement this behavior ourselves? Can someone please provide
us with any advice?
Kind regards,
Niels Brouwers.
