Hello
I am very new to GEF. I am working on a application which stores activity
diagrams in our own designed metamodel. I want to make a viewer which can
display and edit the model stored in our metamodel in a a directed
graphical form(with nodes and edges only). Can anyone suggest me how can
the stored model be displayed using GEF properties.
Thnx

Hem,
Have you looked at GMF yet?
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/gmf/
The UML Tools project has activity diagram support so that's likely to
be a good example:

Thnx Ed,
I also thought for the same first but the problem is that i am using my
own metamodel for the storage of that activity diagram. I want to make the
viewer of the model when it is stored in my own metamodel but not in the
uml2 metamodel.
Also, I want to view it with very minimal information like just in a form
of directed graph with only nodes and edges because i have designed my
metamodel based on node and edges only.
Do you still suggest i should use GMF and not GEF?
Thnx

Hem,
Well, GMF uses GEF, and things like EMF support generating a model you
can persist as XML and them GMF lets you build a GUI around it. That's
how the UML activity diagram was developed so you're effectively solving
the same problem, although, as you say, with a different "model" as the
basis...
