Hi,

I have a problem with Egit + GIT_SSH environment variable that points to
plink 0.63 when updating/cloning repos on github. The operations
succeed, but plink just seems to hang at some point. After searching
around i found that the issue I have is exactly the one described here:

Only that the workaround in #25 doesn't seem to fix anything. Anyone
else has the same problem?

For now the only workaround I have is to unset GIT_SSH for eclipse, so
that eclipse uses the java ssh, and the git shell (which is still needed
sometimes..) uses pageant.

Any similar experiences?

Exactly the same problem here. plink hangs on forever.

I'm now using your proposed workaround, tks for the hint Cool

BTW what's the downside of the workaround? I only found one: You can't put a passphrase on your ssh key to github.

If the built in java ssh works so smoothly, why use PuTTY/Plink?

That is new to me. I'm quite sure I have a passphrase. However, I
remember a bug that seems maybe relevant:

The downside is that I have to configure everything twice.

EGit is good but sometimes not good enough, so need for the Git Bash is
still there sometimes..
