WST, WST JDK, JST, JST JDK [message #205858] |

Looking in the Eclipse 3.3 update site for WTP Updates, I see 4 options
that seem relevant to me: WST, WST JDK, JST, JST JDK. What's the
difference between them?
Looking at http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/ under the Subprojects menu on
the left, I assume Java EE Tools corresponds to JST (or JST JDK)? It's
still not completely clear what views/perspectives it adds, and what
specific features (even after looking at
http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jst/components/j2ee/api/j2ee _componentoverview.html).
And I'm not sure which Subprojects corresponds to WST and WST JDK.
For someone looking to do basic web development - i.e. servlets, JSPs,
tags, etc. No EJBs or anything, but perhaps the ability to deploy to
servers. At minimum, which of the 4 projects above would be necessary to
obtain?
Thanks.

You only need the SDK items if you are writing plugins that extend the
WTP functionality.
