Hi,

i've just downloaded the latest version of eclipse to get use to it.
i've downloaded the WTP, PDT and SDK packages.

However, i'm not able to edit a simple HTML file which already exists.
automatically, when i double click on it, eclipse displays the result of
this html file.

none of the 4 "parametered editors" (system editor, default editor, ...)
open it (except text editor).

where is the problem ?
why can I not open it thanks standard eclipse editor (the same as i have
for js edition) ?

Make sure you are running Eclipse with at least a Java 1.5 runtime
environment. WTP requires 1.5 otherwise some features will be disabled.

Did you download all the pre-reqs. You can also download the PDT
All-In-One package which will make sure you have everything.

You have 1.6 installed, but are you sure Eclipse is using it?
Try Help | About Eclipse Platform | Configuration details and search for
java.runtime.version property.

If it is not >1.5, try:
eclipse -vm <path to javaw.exe of JRE >1.5.x>

Try JDK 1.5, PDT has said they don't support JDK 1.6, even though it
should work,
