Questions concerning the export and input of data [message #1235537] Fri, 24 January 2014 11:05 Go to next message

Hello,

Now that we have Jubula running, the following questions came to our minds:

a) Is it possible to export test results as excel sheets?

b) We have a bunch of textual regressiontests lying around. They consist of several steps and have the following form:

1. open login mask
2. enter password
3. submit

We would like to import those textual repräsentations as test case reference names. Is there a way we can do that within the ITE?

c) Is it possible to write test cases in a certain scripting language?

Any hints are much appreciated!

Hi,

a) At the moment, test results can only be exported as HTML and XML.
b) There is almost certainly a way, but there is nothing out of the box to do that.
c) No, the only way to write tests is using the graphical way in the ITE.

For a) and b), there are various options that might help you - if you do something yourself, then add an enhancement with a patch and we'll review it. If you want the team to do something for you, then that's possible too - have a look at the sponsored development section on the portal. Obviously, this is also a possibility for c) as well, but the size of that would be much bigger as far as I can tell.

Best regards,
Alex

Thanks for the detailed answers. For now, we'll keep creating the tests with the ITE then.
