CTabitem vs TabItem theming [message #1232253] Thu, 16 January 2014 09:21 Go to next message

Hello,

in SWT, CTabFolder/CTabItem and TabFolder/TabItem are quite similar,
CTabItem is more flexible in term of appearance configuration.
In RAP theming option for both are quite different, and TabFolder/TabItem theming seems to offer more options.
Are there any reasons for that ? are there any plans to offer similar theming configuration for both ?

Regards
Arnaud

Hi.

The CTabFolder in RAP was build around the goal to enable the workbench.
It it's also much more complex and difficult to enhance than the normal
TabFolder. For these reasons we recommend to use the normal TabFolder
when possible.

TabFolder is also a current candidate for a complete re-implementation
to make it more flexible, though that is planned for RAP 2.3 at the
earliest.

Greetings,
Tim
