Using class diagram instead of SysML block diagram... [message #1171790] |

Since I found that I could not create the {redefines...} tags to work on a SysML block diagram, I figured that since a SysML block is a specialization of the UML class, I should be able to draw block diagrams using the Papyrus class diagram, in which the associations can be modified correctly. And it works!
Is there any drawbacks or dangers in doing so until the block diagram associations works the same?

Hi Tomas,
It really depends on what you want to do. The main dangers are:
- It is not easily possible to convert a UML+SysML Class diagram to a SysML BDD
- UML Associations and SysML Associations have slightly different semantics, although there is no Stereotype for associations in SysML. (The difference is related to the "isNavigable" derived property, which is computed differently in SysML)
Otherwise, you will only find minor graphics differences.

Camille
