Including the WTP, XSD, EMF, JEM and GEF as part of our update site? [message #180216] Thu, 28 September 2006 16:15 Go to next message

I have a product that has WTP (1.0.3) as a dependency and will be delivered
as part of an update site. A decision was made to also include the WTP and
prerequsites on our update site to provide a "one stop shop" type of thing
for ease of use.

What is the best practice?
1. Download and deploy all plugins from eclipse site to our site?
2. Somehow using site.xml specify mirrors? (note that mirrors only used to
retrieve eclipse content and not our own)
3. Using the feature and archive tag in site.xml to provide fully qualified
URL's to the eclipse site for eclipse-provided plugins and features.

How should this be done? any suggestions?

Thanks

My advice is option 1. It's unfortunate, but the extra diskspace
will be worth your time and possible frustration.
I tried one form of your 3rd alternative and found it very hard to
"get right" and maintain.
