WTP 1.5 WST ready for release? [message #172538] Tue, 27 June 2006 12:49 Go to next message

From what I understand WTP 1.5 is being released in a few days at the end
of the month with the first Callisto release. I've been using Callisto RC6
and fear that the xml editing and validation in WST really is not ready
for release. I've submitted 8 bugs, most of which are regressions from WST
1.0 or are pretty major problems. I'm trying to get my team to use Eclipse
in many areas and move off XMLSpy for XML work; I was wondering roughly
when these bugs are likely to be looked at? The bug numbers are:

148460, 148462, 148463, 148466, 148468, 148842, 148458, 148465

Thanks
William

Hi William,

I'll comment on the XML validation related bugs and let other comment on
the rest.

148462 - Doesn't seem like a major problem. The typical use case is to add
the validation builder to a project and leave it added - although this
certainly is a bug if it works as described.

148463 - If I understand the bug report correctly this is an enhancement
request. WTP has never supported referential file validation for XML
files.

148468 - This function is working exactly as it worked in WTP 1.0. I think
it is usable the way it is although we can probably improve based on your
observation.
