Hi,
are there any possibilites or plans to run a rap application in offline mode through HTML5 capabilities? Can I use application cache or indexeddb from within RAP?

Hi.
No plans, some thought experiments, but that's all. The term "offline
mode" has been used to mean various things before, so how realistic it
is would depend on exactly what is meant by it. But in any case, any
"offline mode" that could be supported would be very limited.
Sure you can use HTML5 features when using JavaScript within a RAP
application (e.g using the Browser widget, the JavaScript executer,
within RWT Scripting or in Custom Widgets), but there is no "official"
support or API.
Greetings,
Tim
